Making proper plans proper

It was starting to feel like the move to Australia was hitting a dead end. Jobs on UK job sites were really drying up, nothing was out there, or jobs I did like stated ‘NO 457 SPONSORSHIP, SOZ’. *sigh

So last night, I started to apply to a bunch of jobs in Melbourne, that didn’t mention overseas or visas on their ads, mostly to gauge a response. I got a HUGE response. The requirement? I need to be living out there already for the visa to progress properly and for me to interview.

So I’m doing it, September 1st, I’m heading out for 3 whole months, to interview and live and see if the lifestyle is right for me. I will be subletting my room, and saying goodbye to some awesome people but it’s all for the greater, awesome good.

I’m so happy that progress is finally being made, and I wasn’t having to wait until I just heard ‘yes’ from a job advert.

Next steps…

  • Book Flight
  • Find Melbs Apartment on a short term let…

Wish me luck.

If any of you have an good house hunting sites for rentals down in Oz, please let me know in the comments 🙂
