Weekend treat – Face masks

I didn’t actually buy myself anything other than practical bits this weekend, (snore), but last night I was heading out for some drinks with one of my oldest friends, so wanted a pamper afternoon before I headed out.

One of my favourite ways to pamper is to run a hot bath, with heaps of bubbles and use my favourite face mask of all time.

I’ve used a variety of masks over the years, but this one is definitely the best so far. I was a bit of an addict to lush facemasks in my early twenties, when my skin was super perky and easier to manage. I still use the Body Shop tea tree facemask when I have tons of blemishes, but my all time fave has to be by the Sanctuary.

Santuary 5 min thermal detox mask

The name is a bit of a mouthful, 5 Thermal Detox Mask. Now this is a warming mask, I think the main ingredient (besides sorcery), is charcoal, which is an amazing ingredient if you need to flush out any nasty impurities.

This heats your skin as soon as you put it on your face, which is immediately relaxing. I tend to put a little more on my tzone and anywhere I might have blemishes, I also flout the rules and usually leave it on for a good 10-20 mins instead of the usual 5, to ensure it does all the extra work.

The Sanctuary website themselves, have said this about the product:

‘This self-heating mask uses warmth to help open up pores so charcoal & kaolin clay can help draw out the impurities from deep within the skin. Containing essential oil of myrrh to soothe & calm, the mask helps to rebalance oil levels to leave skin purified, cleansed & silky-soft.’

The mask costs about £10 and will last forever, I still have loads left, and I bought mine in January.

  1. I read and watched a lot of good reviews on this face mask. This definitely goes onto my “when I’m in London next time”-shopping list! Together with some NARS products! … Better get there soon 😀
