Review: Kit Cosmetics Nail Polish in ‘Skinny Dip’

kit cosmetics review

My current status of ‘you might need to go to an interview today’ means that my nails need to be kept in a somewhat decent and neutral condition. I ditched all my nail colours in the UK, so I needed to pick one up when I arrived here.

I fell upon Kit’s gorgeous counter in Myer, Melbourne almost immediately this weekend. As well as their own brand, these are the guys who sell smashbox, soap and glory and a whole heap of other quirky, cool brands.

The nail varnish selection errs on the more colourful, with some really gorgeous coral colours in there. Though, this was okay for me, as it meant I didn’t have to spend too long choosing.

I usually go for pinks or browns when it comes to nudes andΒ Skinny Dip is a sort of milky coffee nude colour. It’s much whiter than I’d usually go for, but I was totally drawn in, as the colour is gorgeous.

The formula itself glides on real easy, I actually prefer this to the Nails Inc formulas.

It’s also super super chip resistant, and being a bit of a tomboy who also gets stuck in at the kitchen means my nails usually take a battering, but this hasn’t budged. It’s got a similar sheen to the Barry M Gelly Range (not available here) but it’s twice as tough. I am in LOVE with this brand and can’t wait to buy more! (Hip Hop and Real Deal are on my list next).

What do you think of the colour? Do you have a favourite nail varnish brand?

You can pick up kit either instore at Myer, or online here.

  1. We love the Kit counters in Myer too! They’re so quirky and bright which we love. We’re big advocates of bold nails, but we also like the occassional nude polsih. BY the way, how did you manage to get that love heart thingy over your photos? It’s so cute

    • I use something called PicMonkey! It’s used by pretty much the majority of the blogging community. It takes all the useful bits of photoshop and makes it very simple to use πŸ™‚ Hope that helps!x
